Favourites of Allah

The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Keep away from luxury, for the favourites of Allah are no lovers of ease and luxury.” [Mishkat]

Our future lies in enlisting ourselves as Allah’s workers. Jannah is the reward of Allah’s workers. He (subhana wa ta’ala) is in no need of our service; it is an honour that He bestows on us that He allows us to work for Him.

But then what befits a worker while he’s on duty? That he busy himself in working for his salary or that he spend his hours at work pampering himself?

Keep away from luxury, for the favourite workers of Allah are no lovers of ease and luxury.
