Hadith Explanation
Students and Teachers of Quran
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Quran and teach it (to others).” [Sahih Bukhari]
In some societies, doctors and scientists are honoured more than other people. In other societies, artists and musicians are held in the highest esteem. In the gathering of trillions of angels with Allah (subhana wa ta’ala), the learners and teachers of the Quran are considered the most honourable and treated with the greatest respect. It is this honour that we should all try to achieve, since it is the only honour that is lasting and worthwhile.
Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is Al-Mu’izz: the One in Whose Hands is the bestowing of honour. Whom Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) bestows it upon, none can take it away from, and whom Allah does not honour, none can bestow honour on. The honour that Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) bestows is everlasting and of a far superior quality than the honour that people bestow.
