Hadith Explanation

Allah is Shakoor

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Restore the trusts of those who trust you, and deal not falsely with him who deals falsely with you." [Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]

The only way that a person can acquire steadfastness in doing good is by purifying their intention and doing good only for Allah's pleasure, expecting reward from Him alone. As said: "If you do a good deed by a human they will repay you with ten bad deeds, but if you do a good deed by Allah, He repays with with a minimum of ten goodnesses."

When we look at people's reactions they can be very discouraging. But he/she who has Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) in mind is never discouraged from doing good. One of Allah's names is Ash-Shakoor (the one who appreciates in the best possible way). Not the slightest thing goes by Him unnoticed. He is the one who notices the good that you do even when no one is looking. Only when a person becomes aware of this, can they keep people's trusts.
