Hadith Explanation
Charge Yourself with Siesta
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Take a siesta for the devils do not take a siesta.” [Abu Naeem in Al-Tibb]
A Muslim’s day starts before Fajr, ends after Isha, and ideally includes waking up in the middle of the night to pray too. In summer months this would hardly allow one to get an essential amount of sleep if it weren’t for the prescribed siesta.
The siesta is a short nap taken in the afternoon that keeps the functionality of the brain and body optimal for the remainder of the day.
Since the Shayateen do not nap in the afternoon, we should, in order to differentiate ourselves from them.
