Hadith Explanation

Cheeks Dark

“Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: ‘I and the woman whose cheeks have grown dark (on account of the cares and anxieties of her children) shall be like this on the Day of Resurrection.’ (Here Rasul Allah put together his middle and fore-fingers.)” [Abu Dawud]

Children are the flowers of Paradise. If Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has blessed your home with them then value His gift. Thank Allah, appreciate the children, and appreciate the opportunity of showing Allah that you value His favours on you. Never leave your children on nannies, day care, or relatives. The reward you get for taking care of them yourself is much more than the reward you could get for working and donating all of that money as Sadaqah.

Your helpless child is entirely dependent on your love and care. If you haven’t strangled the motherly feelings Allah has gifted you with, then there is no match between the love and care you can give to your child compared to that anyone else in the world can give.
