Clean Masjid en route to Jannah

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “To sweep the Masjid, to keep it tidy and clean, to cast out all dust and filth from the Masjid, to burn incense in the Masjid, especially to make the place fragrant with the aroma of incense on Fridays – all these are acts which lead to Jannah.” [Ibn Majah]

Masjids are places where Muslims congregate to remember Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). Whoever takes care to maintain a clean and pleasant environment there will have Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) take care to maintain a clean and pleasant environment in his homes of the Dunya and Akhirah.

Keep your Masjid clean and tidy. Sweep the place and feel honoured to take out its trash. Burn incense in it, especially on Fridays, so that the Masjid becomes fragrant and even more welcoming.
