Entering Graveyard Dua

The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) taught us to recite the following Dua on entering the graveyard: “Assalamu alaikum ahlad-diyaari min-al momineena wal muslimeena wa inna insha-Allahu bikum laa-hiqoona nas-alullaha lana wa la-kumul aafiya.” [Ibn Majah]

The meaning of this Dua is: “Peace be upon you O Mumineen (faithful believers) and Muslimeen who dwell herein. By the Will of Allah we shall soon join you. We ask Allah for safety for us and for you.”

When you pass by a graveyard greet its dwellers with this prayer.
