Hadith Explanation
Exposing People to Excreta
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever washes his excreta in any passageway of the Muslims, on him are the curses of Allah, the angels, and all humans.” [Baihaqi]
Islam forbids us from defecating or releasing sewage in places that people walk by because it is offensive to the senses and people might step into the filth too.
In addition, sufferers of particular diseases release pathogens in their stools. This human waste, bearing the infective agents of diseases, compounds its harm to people.
If exposing people to excreta invokes on them the curses of Allah, the angels, and all humans; what will be the case of those who expose people to greater hardships than this?
