Fortunate Granted Recognition of Allah

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “It is the fortunate and pious who are granted learning and the unfortunate are deprived of it.” [Minhaj ul Abideen by Imam Ghazzali]

Allah the Exalted commanded Dawood (alaihis salam) to acquire useful knowledge. So Dawood (alaihis salam) inquired as to what kind of knowledge was useful. Allah the Exalted told him, “Useful knowledge is that which helps to recognize My greatness and grandeur and to believe that I have power over all things. This knowledge shall bring you closer to Me.” [Minhaj ul Abideen by Imam Ghazzali]

This is the kind of knowledge we should all seek. Only with this kind of knowledge and the action it produces should we count ourselves among the fortunate!
