Headquarters of Muslims during the Great Battle

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The camp (field headquarters) of the Muslims on the day of the Great Battle (Malhamatil-Kubra) will be in Al-Ghutah, beside a city called Damascus, one of the best cities of Ash-Shaam.” [Sunan Abu Dawud]

Al-Ghutah is about 8.5 km east of Damascus, the capital of Syria. It is during the time of Hazrat Mahdi that this greatest world war (Malhamatil Kubra) will be fought. It will be the final confrontation of the forces of truth against the forces of evil and neither side will back off till their power is exhausted.

This world war will comprise of many battles on many different fronts. One will be the front which Hazrat Mahdi himself will be commanding. The second major front will be Palestine. The third will be Iraq which has been mentioned in ahadith as the front of the river Euphrates. Another important front will be the Indian sub-continent. There could be other smaller battle fronts besides these major ones. However, the central command of all of these fronts will be in the hands of Hazrat Mahdi in the headquarters of Al-Ghutah.
