Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “When anyone of you dies, his destination is displayed before him in the forenoon and in the afternoon, either in the Fire or in Paradise, and it is said to him, ‘That is your place till you are resurrected and sent to it.’” [Sahih Bukhari]

When a Momin sees his beautiful mansions, his rolling hills, his streams and lakes, his family, his attendants, and the banquets prepared for him in Paradise, he longs to go to them - his real home. Thus, the Momin waits eagerly for the Day of Resurrection.

On the other hand, the Kuffar, Munafiqeen and Murtaddeen are shown the blazing hot fire, the darkness, the boiling water and pus, that is their due. Thus, they pray that the Day of Resurrection never comes.

May Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) give us death while we are Momineen.
