In Line with Other Muslims

“On one occasion in a Jamaat for Salat, a man was standing in line in such a manner that the position of his chest was inclined forward. On seeing the man standing in this fashion, the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) warned: ‘O people of Allah! You must stand in straight lines in a proper manner else Allah shall cause you to stand in opposite directions to each other.’” [Muslim]

To stay united with other Muslims, we must also stand in a united way to pray. Nobody should try to distinguish himself from another by leaning forward or praying separately. A person becomes distinguished in Allah’s sight by their deeds and their Eeman and not by standing out pretentiously among people.

Observe proper care in keeping the rows perfectly straight when offering the Salat in Jamaat. Stand shoulder to shoulder close to each other, leaving no gap in between. Do not form lines in the rear unless the front rows are filled.
